Easter reflections...

Here in Banja Luka I will get to have two Easters - well sort of. I am working most of this weekend and then next weekend (when it is Orthodox Easter) I am going to be in Sarajevo swearing my allegiance to my Queen :-) But I will be back in time for the celebration service on Sunday which I am really looking forward to!

Today I was just reflecting on the fact that it is Good Friday and then I came across the following video on a friend's blog. It really just sums up everything Jesus did for us on the cross and so I thought I would share it with you as well. (It has scenes from The Passion which can be quite gory so be warned...)

Here are the lyrics:
How Deep the Father’s Love for Us

How deep the Father’s love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

I pray that you will have a blessed Easter and be reminded of the real reason we celebrate!
